Greetings! You’ve come to the right place to learn more about me and my work as a freelance journalist. I'm passionate about issues that all of us face, whether it’s protecting our health, parenting our children or understanding how the daily choices we make affect our  lives. I'm fascinated by how what we think and feel affects how we move through the world each day, as well as what we believe is possible for ourselves.

It’s that fascination that led me to write "You'd Be So Pretty If...: Teaching Our Daughters to Love Their Bodies--Even When We Don't Love Our Own" (May 2009,  Da Capo Press), a non-fiction book that helps moms raise daughters who feel good about their bodies. I've appeared on NBC's TODAY Show and on Fox News Boston, and You'd Be So Pretty If... has garnered praise everywhere from Publishers Weekly to Newsweek online.

You'd Be So Pretty If... was born out of my experience as Shape magazine's 2007 Weight-Loss Diary columnist. More than a million readers followed my journey as I attempted to shed not only pounds, but also old attitudes. It was nothing short of transforming! Read my blog to see what I'm up to these days.

You'll also find my work on health, wellness and lifestyle topics in a wide variety of major consumer magazines, such as Shape, Parenting, Family Circle, Woman’s Day, Working Mother, VIV and Better Homes & Gardens, as well as in many  custom publications.
